How to Delete a Document

  1. Open the document — Click on the document you want to delete in your vault
  2. Find the delete option — Look for the delete button or menu option in the document details
  3. Confirm deletion — You'll be asked to confirm before the document is permanently removed

Important: Deletion is Permanent

When you delete a document, it is permanently removed from our servers. This includes:

  • The original uploaded file
  • All extracted obligations and analysis data
  • Any reminders associated with the document

This action cannot be undone. Make sure you have a backup of the original document if you might need it later.

When to Delete Documents

Consider deleting documents when:

  • The contract or agreement has expired and is no longer relevant
  • You uploaded the wrong file by mistake
  • You have a newer version of the same document
  • You no longer need to track the document's obligations

Alternative: Keep for Records

Instead of deleting, consider keeping expired documents for your records. Even after a contract ends, you might need to reference its terms for disputes, renewals, or tax purposes. You can use tags like "expired" or "archived" to organize old documents.
